John Durno
PHP & Wordpress developerHaving been in the IT industry in various capacities since 1989, including part time web design from 1997, I decided to move full time into web development around 2004.
During this time, I have been involved in interesting and challenging projects, from developing a large central reservation system from the ground up for a tourism agency’s call centre, to developing an online quote system for a UK life insurance company.
But for every day websites, I believe WordPress is the way to go for quicker turnaround times and flexibility.
I have developed sites under contract and subcontract for clients in the UK, India, Sweden, Tasmania, Sierra Leone and South Africa, collaborating at times with developers based in the UK, Russia and Bulgaria.
I work from a peaceful rural location on the banks of a dam in the Gonubie Broads area of East London in the Eastern Cape, with the sights and sounds of bush buck, horses, guinea fowl, peacocks and fish eagles as inspiration.
Born in Mombasa, Kenya, I have spent most of my life in South Africa.
I live with my 11 year old son, sharing the house with a bunch of furry creatures.
